Lots of exciting things around the Seago house!

Our little family of three enjoyed a day out with my family to celebrate my cousin's 16th birthday. We don't really get out of the house with all of us that much unless it is for church, and we are still spending a fair amount of time in the nursery. It is so hard to make trips out with Avery by myself because she doesn't like her carseat (at all) so she needs to be held every where we go. This is what you call a "high needs baby." A good baby...but needy!
She is really starting to get big! She weighed 12lb 11 oz on Tuesday. My mom got us an infant scale for Christmas so we can keep track of her weight. It has almost become a stupid obsession of mine since that first pediatrician made such a big deal about her weight in the beginning. This girl's got rolls! She is also reaching for things, holding them and playing with things. She is starting to bring just about anything into her mouth too these days. She slobbers like crazy... we think she is trying to cut some teeth and we can see two little white spots on her bottom gums, but they don't seem to want to actually break through.
HANDS FREE! When Avery and I are home together, she wants to nurse, be held (including for naps) or have me close while she plays. Finally the other day, I HAD to get some things done. I put her in the front carrier which she protested to profusely at first. Somewhere between making the bed and chopping up some celery, I bounced her to sleep in it. It was a great 45 minutes until the phone rang and woke her up.
My most favorite new thing is that she is starting to make lots and lots of noise, trying to "talk" to us. Sometimes it goes on for several minutes and she has the sweetest little voice. I can't wait to hear her first words...at this rate, it won't be long!
Did I mention that Avery is a huge Colts fan? She loves to watch the Colts play and she will be helping us root them on in the Superbowl next Sunday in her little Colts cheerleader outfit.
By the way, during this particular game, she also learned how to roll over from tummy to back going both right and left. She has only done it about five times, but the first time was hilarious! It scared her to death, but she got over it quickly.

Avery is going to be 4 months on Friday and Nathan is going to be 31! Pam and Calvin have been here visiting us for our birthdays ( mine was two weeks ago) and hanging out with Avery. Avery has been the best thing for us, because we have gotten to see a lot more of our southern family since she has made her debut.

There may be some big changes for our family in the near future. Please say some prayers as we evaluate things and try to make some positive changes for the benefit of our family. We are really hoping God blesses us to do some things we've talked about for a long time. I will eventually go into details, but just keep us in your prayers.

Hope everyone has a great week.

Avery is 3 months!

Our fun new thing is Avery is really smiling, sticking out her tongue and laughing now. It is hilarious to watch her!
She was exhausted after all the holiday excitement. I actually had to wake her up a few mornings. Unfortunately, she is starting to get REALLY fussy and throw tantrums when she is tired. She arches her back and straightens out her legs like a board. It's hard to calm her sometimes, but then her best naps usually follow.
We got all decked out in our Colts gear, just in time to watch them purposely blow a perfect season to the NY Jets. Why do they get paid the big bucks to sit on the bench? Grrrr....they had better win the Superbowl!
This is so cute... Nathan got me a beautiful 3 heart necklace to symbolize our family for Christmas. Obviously Avery liked it too.
Our first Christmas as a family of three.
Gram and Pops were excited to see little Avery for her southern Christmas. Check out their cute shirts!
Christmas in Indiana... Avery's shirt says "Daddy's favorite present." He did say that she was all he wanted for Christmas (but he is still enjoying his remote control plane...lol)!
Santa Baby...this was right before she started screaming...
Avery's first snow...brrrr
My little big girl...she likes the extra view of the world and mommy likes a few minutes hands free.

Things are going pretty good for us all in all and we are looking forward to God's blessings in 2010.
